Banting cauliflower, broccoli, bacon and cheese sauce
This is a yummy recipe! Using the cheese sauce from the previous post, all you have to do is steam your cauliflower and broccoli (I steam to retain more nutrients), make the cheese sauce, fry up some bacon, line the baking pan with the cauliflower and broccoli, spread the bacon evenly, cover in the cheese sauce, and for good measure throw in some more cheddar cheese over it to create a nice crust, bake for about 30 minutes and 5 minutes under the grill.This is a high fat dish, make no mistake about that! Combined it comes out at about 1157 calories! However this diet isn't about calories, but rather fat. Which combined is about 108 g fat.
It's very filling and freezes well.
If you want to make it less calorie and fat intensive, use half the amount of cheese sauce and skip the extra cheese on top.
Ingredients:
Cauliflower (1-2 large heads)
Broccoli (1-2 large heads)
Cheese sauce - see previous recipe
Cheddar cheese (1 cups)
Packet of bacon
Preheat oven to 180, bake for 30 minutes.
Turn the grill on, grill for 5-10 minutes.
