Best banting cheese sauce
The reason I think I can handle the banting diet, is because it allows cheese.. and cream cheese.. and more cheese. I was making a dish that required cheese sauce and decided this was possibly the best cheese sauce I've had. Here we go, makes about 3 cups.375 g cream cheese (full fat)
9 tbsp butter
225 ml cream
3 tbsp water
2 tsp salt (don't add if your butter is salted)
450 g cheddar cheese
Add the cream cheese, butter and water first to a pan, turn it to high. The cream cheese takes longer to melt than anything else.
Once that is melted, add the cheese.
Once that is melted add the cream and stir till the lumps are gone and it's thickened up a bit.
To make half this recipe take away 1/3rd of each ingredient.
